Hanuman Chalisa, Chaupai 19

Meaning of “prabhu mudrikā meli mukh māhīṁ”

"prabhu mudrikā meli mukh māhīṁ" is Chaupai 19 of the Hanuman Chalisa, which Tulsidas wrote in Awadhi. It means: With the Lord's ring in your mouth you leapt over the ocean. That is no wonder. Before the search parties leave, Rama touches Hanuman's head and gives him his ring. At the ocean, Hanuman goes like Rama's unfailing arrow.

प्रभु मुद्रिका मेलि मुख माहीं ।जलधि लाँघि गये अचरज नाहीं ॥prabhu mudrikā meli mukh māhīṁjaladhi lāṁghi gaye acaraj nāhīṁ
