मासानां मार्गशीर्षोऽहमृतूनां कुसुमाकरः ॥

गायी जानेवाली श्रुतियोंमें बृहत्साम और वैदिक छन्दोंमें गायत्री छन्द मैं हूँ । बारह महीनोंमें मार्गशीर्ष और छः ऋतुओंमें वसन्त मैं हूँ ॥
