Vivekananda quotes for students
Lines he spoke to young people about focus, strength and learning, each one checked against his Complete Works.
Swami Vivekananda told students to take up one idea and give it their whole life (Raja Yoga, Complete Works vol 1) and to build strength first: "Be strong, my young friends; that is my advice to you" (vol 3). These lines are checked against volumes 1 to 8, with the volume and work on each.

Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life, think of it, dream of it, live on that idea.
Do one thing at a time and while doing it put your whole soul into it to the exclusion of all else.
Learn everything that is good from others, but bring it in, and in your own way absorb it; do not become others.
We have indeed many things to learn from others, yea, that man who refuses to learn is already dead.
Be strong, my young friends; that is my advice to you.
You will be nearer to Heaven through football than through the study of the Gita.
You will understand the Gita better with your biceps, your muscles, a little stronger.
Dare to be free, dare to go as far as your thought leads, and dare to carry that out in your life.
Strong, vigorous, believing young men, sincere to the backbone, are wanted.
Always first learn to be a servant, and then you will be fit to be a master.
By reading books we become parrots; no one becomes learned by reading books.
Education is the manifestation of the perfection already in man.
You have to grow from inside out. None can teach you, none can make you spiritual. There is no other teacher but your own soul.
If you have assimilated five ideas and made them your life and character, you have more education than any man who has got by heart a whole library
The world is ready to give up its secrets if we only know how to knock, how to give it the necessary blow.
Anything that makes you weak physically, intellectually, and spiritually, reject as poison; there is no life in it, it cannot be true.
Have faith in yourselves, and stand up on that faith and be strong; that is what we need.
Whatever you think, that you will be. If you think yourselves weak, weak you will be; if you think yourselves strong, strong you will be
All power is within you; you can do anything and everything.
Never mind failures; they are quite natural, they are the beauty of life, these failures.
We are what our thoughts have made us; so take care of what you think. Words are secondary. Thoughts live, they travel far.
Great results are attained only by great patience, great courage, and great attempts.
The Gita behind these lines

“If one reads this one Shloka”
He says this one verse holds the whole message of the Gita: get up, and drop the faint heart.
